Ingredients of Green Moong dal pandoli

  1. You need 1 cup of green Moong Dal.
  2. Prepare 1/4 cup of sour Curd.
  3. Prepare 2 teaspoon of Ginger-green chilli paste.
  4. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  5. Prepare 1 tsp of Mustard Seeds.
  6. Prepare 1 teaspoon of Cumin seeds.
  7. It's 1 tsp of sesame seeds.
  8. Prepare to taste of boiled American corn.
  9. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of Hing / asafoeida.
  10. Prepare 2 teaspoon of fruit Salt.
  11. It's 2 teaspoon of Lemon juice.

Moong dal has a very high significance in Ayurveda. It's considered as the easiest lentil to digest. As per Ayurveda, this lentil cleanses the body by removing the deepest toxins, manages the water retention of the body and helps in weight loss too. This green moong dal recipe is one of those dals I make often.

Green Moong dal pandoli instructions

  1. Soak moong dal in enough water for about1 hour. Wash and drain the water.Now take a grinder, add soaked moong dal, and curd. Grind it into a smooth paste.Blend well..
  2. Take a pan, add oil. Heat the oil, add mustard seeds,, 1/2 teaspoon Hing / asafoeida,sesame seeds, boiled American corn and cumin seeds When they start crackling, pour this half of tempering on the batter and mix well..
  3. Just before steaming, add salt, ginger green chilli paste, fruit salt and lemon juice. Mix all ingredients well..
  4. Tie a muslin cloth on top a vessel, half-filled with water and heat till the water boils. Put batter on the muslin cloth at regular intervals..
  5. Cover it with lid. Steam it for about 10 minutes. Serve immediately,topped with remaining tadka. Garnish with cheese flower and tomato tiny round..
  6. Serve with any chutney or any sauce of your choice..
  7. Note-I kept round moulds on muslin cloth for equal size of pandolies..
