Ingredients of DAHI VADA (South Indian Style)

- You need 200 gms of urad dal, washed & soaked for 2hours 30mins.

DAHI VADA (South Indian Style) instructions
- For the batter.
- Drain the soaked dal, add green chillies. Grind them in a mixer with help of very little water to a fine paste.
- Transfer the dal paste in a bowl, add salt & mix thoroughly till light and fluffy.
- Spread little dal mixture on left fingers & dip a finger in water to make a hole in between the mixture. Transfer the spread on wet right fingers & then put it in hot oil for deep frying.
- Fry on medium, stir occasionally, till the vadas get a golden color.
- Put these hot vadas in salted water for sometime. Take them out & squeeze gently in-between palms to remove any water.
- For the yoghurt.
- Strain the curd. Add sugar & salt. Add grated coconut. Mix well. Add the drained vadas in the ready dahi.
- FOR THE TEMPERING Heat oil in a ladle. Add mustard seeds. As they start to splutter add whole red chillies, curry leaves, green chillies..
- FOR THE GARNISHING Sprinkle red chilli powder & spread the tempering. Serve cold..
