Potatoes and fenugreek leaves are a lovely combination together. At home, I make aloo methi two ways. One is this Punjabi recipe and the other is my mom's version of Methi aloo with garlic and onions. You can cook Aloo methi using 12 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

  1. It's 1 bunch of methi leaves.
  2. You need 10-12 of baby potatoes.
  3. Prepare 1 of onion.
  4. Prepare 1 of green chilli.
  5. You need 1 of tomato.
  6. Prepare 1 tbsp of cumin seeds.
  7. Prepare 1/2 tbsp of Turmeric powder.
  8. You need 1/2 tbsp of red chilli pwder.
  9. Prepare 1/2 tbsp of gram masala.
  10. You need 1/2 tbsp of coriander powder.
  11. It's 4 tbsp of mustard oil.
  12. It's of Salt as per ur taste.

This aloo methi recipe has a lot of flavor and bitterness of methi (fenugreek) leaves combined with the earthy flavor and taste of potatoes. It is less spiced and a dry vegetable sabzi. Aloo methi step by step

  1. Wash the methi leaves and Chop the leaves.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds,str well add onion and green chilli. Saute.
  3. Add potatoes mix all str well saute 4-5 min.
  4. Add tomato and saute everything..
  5. Add salt, red mirchi pwder, garam masala, dhaniya pwder, haldi pwder mix them well..
  6. Add methi leaves and mix everything. Nw cover the pan with lid.for 5-10 minutes till the potatoes are soft & cooked and the water from the methi leaves has dried out...
  7. Aloo methi sabzi is ready..

Spinach is not the only healthy leafy green vegetable. Mix fresh Methi Leaves with potatoes for this delicious and healthy subzi. The kids won't even notice the greens mixed in with their favorite - potatoes! But you can serve with paratha too. To complete the meal, also have dal-rice on side.
