- You need 1/2 cup of butter.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Crisco shorting.
- It's 2 tsp of clear vanilla extract.
- Prepare 4 cup of icing sugar.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of milk or water.

- cream the butter and shorting together in an electric mixer.
- add in the vanilla and mix.
- slowly add in the icing sugar.
- add the 2 tablespoons of milk.
- mix until cream is fluffy. the butter cream will have a thick consistency. to make the icing more thin, add 2 more tablespoons of milk.
- I added a tablespoon of meringue powder for more stability. and I used rum extract which tasted great.
Add milk.beat on med speed until icing is light and fluffy. Stiff consistency In large bowl cream shortening and butter with mixer. Gradually add sugar one cup at a time. beating well on med speed. Scrape sides amd bottom of bowl often. *Note: Clear butter & clear almond extracts can be included with or substituted for the vanilla. Gradually add sifted dry ingredients and mix on medium speed until all ingredients have been thoroughly mixed together.
