Punjabi kadhi pakoda. Kadhi pakora is often made at our home, but I just could not manage myself to take step by step photos and thats why it took me so long to share this delicious Punjabi kadhi recipe. We love kadhis, be it plain or with pakoras. At home we call it kadhi chawal, because the kadhi is had with plain rice or jeera rice. you can also have kadhi with roti but I always prefer to have kadhi with rice.
Ingredients of Punjabi kadhi pakoda
- It's 500 gm of curd.
- Prepare 1 cup of besan/gram flour.
- Prepare to taste of salt.
- It's 1/2 tbsp of turmeric powder.
- You need 1/2 tbsp of Onion seeds.
- You need 1/2 tsp of coriander seeds.
- You need 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
- It's 1/2 tbsp of Hing/asafoetida.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of fenugreek seeds.
- Prepare 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
- It's 2 of onions (finely sliced).
- Prepare 1 cup of tomato paste.
- Prepare 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- It's 1 tsp of garam masala.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of kasturi methi.
- You need of For pakodas.
- Prepare 1 cup of besan/gram flour.
- It's to taste of Salt.
- You need 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- It's 1/3 tsp of hing/asafoetida.
- You need 1/2 tsp of coriander powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of garam masala.
- It's 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
- It's 1 of onion (finely sliced).
- You need 1 of potato (finely sliced).
- It's handful of Coriander leaves.
- It's 1/3 tsp of fenugreek seeds.
- Prepare 3 cup of water.

Punjabi kadhi pakoda step by step
- In a bowl take curd. Add besan, salt & turmeric powder & mix well to form a smooth batter. Keep it aside for now..
- In a wide open aluminium kadai / cooker take mustard oil. Add hing, seeds to it & let it turn aromat on low flame..
- Now add onions & saute till it turns translucent. Now add tomato puree. Add dry powder masalas & let it cook on low flame till it turns aromat..
- Now add the curd batter. Add water. Let it cook for about 20 minutes on medium flame..
- For pakodas : Take oil in a pan. Let it heat. In a bowl add 1 cup besan. Add powder masalas & salt. Mix well.
- Add onions, potato, ginger garlic paste, fenugreek seeds to the besan. Add water to make a thick batter. Fry small portions of this batter to make pakodas..
- Add pakodas to the kadhi. Add kasuri methi. Punjabi kadhi pakoda is ready to serve. Serve it with steamed rice or parantha or chapati..
To get the best taste, pakora should simmer in kadhi for some time, So it soaks up some gravy and flavors, will become soft.
