Coconut Okra(lady finger) karhi. This recipe is very tasty with Rice, Dosa & Idli. It is very easy to make if you are in hurry. Fried lady finger in tamarind curry with coconut milk gives a yummy taste to the lady finger pieces.
Ingredients of Coconut Okra(lady finger) karhi
- You need 1/2 kg of Yogurt (dahi).
- You need 4 tbsp of Gram flour.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of Coconut powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Salt.
- You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Milk,.
- It's 1 tsp of garlic paste.
- Prepare 1/2 bunch of Coriander leaves.
- You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
- You need 8,10 of green chilli.
- You need 150 gm of Okra(lady finger).
- You need 1 tbsp of Gram flour.
- You need 1/4 tsp of salt.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of water.
- You need 2 of Curry leaves.
- Prepare 1 of onion.
- It's 1 tsp of cumin seed.
- It's 8 of whole red chilli.
It is valued for its edible green seed pods. The products of the plant are mucilaginous, resulting in the characteristic "goo" or slime when the seed pods are. Coconut Okra(lady finger) karhi step by step
- Put the coriander,cumin,green chilli,& water in blender,and make paste,.
- Take yogurt in bowl & add,gram flour(4tbsp), garlic paste,coconut,salt,turmeric,milk,& prepared green paste and mix well,now pour all mixture in pot and let them cook for 20 mint.
- Take okra in bowl add gram flour(1 tbsp),salt,water,mix well,deep fry for 5 mint in hot oil,take out from oil & add in karhi,cook for 10 mint.
- Now take 1/2 cup oil in pan add,onion,cumin seed,curry leaves,whole red chilli,cook for 3 mint then Add in karhi mix well and cover for 5 mint,.
- Okra karhi is ready for Serving,serve with rice,try at your home and enjoy..
Cut off the ends from the Lady's Finger. Slice lady's finger into thin round slices. If lady's finger is very thick in size, split it vertically and then slice. And this bhindi coconut curry with some plain rice is just what I need.! ????. I had never heard of the word 'Okra' until I came to the US.
