Aloo keema. Here's a recipe for an authentic, homestyle, just-like-your-grandma's (if your grandma happens to be Pakistani) Aloo Keema. This is a traditional, one-pot recipe that's simple, easy-to make, and gives the most flavorful results! Aloo Keema is a popular Pakistani & North Indian dish consisting of curried, minced meat (keema) and potatoes (aloo).
Ingredients of Aloo keema
- You need 500 gram of chicken Keema.
- It's 1 of potatoes.
- Prepare 2 of medium size onions.
- Prepare 1 of big tomato.
- You need 1 teaspoon of kasuri methi.
- It's 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste.
- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- You need 1 teaspoon of salt.
- You need 1 teaspoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder.
- You need As needed of Oil for cooking.
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of Garam masala powder.
- It's 2 teaspoon of Coriander leaves for garnishing.
Aloo keema recipe or Kheema or minced meat with potato is a dish which is made by cooking keema/kheema and adding potatoes with few masalas. Keema or kheema is mostly a good combination with roti/parathas. Also do check out palak gosht, palak chicken, palak katli etc… Kheema/minced meat curries can be made in different ways. Tips to really elevate your Aloo Keema.
Aloo keema instructions
- Wash the mins (keema) & keep it to drain the water set aside.
- Chop potatoes 1/2 inch slices keep pop it in cold water till you use in cooking.
- Next chop onions, tomato and pop it all in a pressure cooker then add in all the spices mentioned above with oil rest leaving the Garam masala & coriander leaves for garnishing.
- Add a glass of water in pressure cooker cover the lid let it cook for 3 whistles then desteam it..
- Now fry well till it oil separates then add keema mix well then add potatoes & only half a glass of water then give only two whistles immediately off the flame burner otherwise the potatoes will me almost mashed.
- While you open stirr with light hand cook till all water is soaked in curry then garnish it with coriander leaves & sprinkle some Garam masala powder & it’s ready. Enjoy the delicious meal..!!!this is one of my favorite curry to prepare on the go to enjoy with hot rice & parathas either..!!.
I always recommend you use hath ka keema not just for this, but for any keema dish you A staple Pakistani meal, aloo keema is made using minced meat (aka keema) and potatoes in a dry gravy. It can be served with roti or rice. Not plain keema or matar keema or piyaaz keema. What I love love is aloo keema. The warm curry spices add an exotic flair to a very simple dish of ground meat and potatoes.
