Peach pancake topping. We made pancakes last weekend, a hearty Saturday brunch for a crowd. We are great fans of maple syrup, but we also love the chunky fruit toppings found in diners and family restaurants like Bob Evans. You can buy these industrially pre-packaged in jars, of course, but it is just too easy to make your own.
Ingredients of Peach pancake topping
- It's 1 medium of peach.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of butter.
- You need 1 of powder sugar.
- You need 1 of pancakes(1 serving-3or4).
While cooking the pancakes, start the peach topping. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. The use of peach flavored tea was a brilliant idea in my book. I used this as a sauce over homemade pancakes and got rave reviews from family and friends!!
Peach pancake topping step by step
- Wash a peach (you can use a nectarine). Cut it up in little cubes..
- Place the butter in a small frying pan. Put the stove on medium low add your peaches. Once they bubble but down to low. Stir them until they get soft and create it own syrup. This all happens quickly..
- Put on top of pancakes. Sprinkle with powder sugar.
This would be a wonderful topping over ice cream as well as a myriad of other foods!! Most importantly, this buttery maple peach topping is perfect for your waffles, pancakes, cakes, cheesecakes and when you serve ice cream for dessert! I especially like it with a splash of liqueur. How else would you use it? We picked up a basket of fresh peaches from a curbside market on the way home from a camping trip.
